Brands in people´s heads
The English version brandtags has now a German version called brandfans.
Both platforms allow you to tag certain brands with words you associate most with them.
One step further goes brandscompare who lets brands compete against each other by choice of user.
The one thing these platforms have in common is, that they reflect what people associate with brands on a spontaneous basis, so the top of mind associations which makes it really interesting.
However, this “experiment” shows some flaws on the long run because people come and visit the webiste more often and type in “nonesense” words which contradict with the real associations some brands really have.
